Remember before when I talked about Red State editor Erick Erickson? And I said,

What’s really going on is obvious. He predicted the election incorrectly, his candidate got rope-a-doped by a better candidate with better policy, and he is trying desperately to gain back some prestige.

As it happens, I was a little bit wrong. In reality, what is really going on is exactly what was going on the last time. He wants a new job. So I was wrong, but the leftish media was more wrong.

The Jordan Davis case reminds a lot of people of the Trayvon Martin case. I get that. I get why and yes it is similar. But me? I don’t think of Trayvon Martin as much as I think of Emmett Till. More than that, I think of Emmett’s mother Mamie. She wanted the world to see what it had done to her baby. She wanted us to learn. We didn’t. And I am ashamed for us.

This isn’t the case of one man with a gun. This is a case of a whole state systematically oppressing and devaluing a large swathe of its citizens because of their race through educational disparity, voter suppression, disenfranchisement, and murder. This is 21st Century Jim Crow. This is systemic, systematic and it’s not going to stop until we make it stop.
